His mercies are new every morning and for that I am so grateful. Most days are good, but there are those days. On those days, when my head hits the pillow in the evening I praise God for the new day to come. I praise Him for another opportunity to enjoy His mercies. My shortcomings are a time to see Him turning me into an Overcomer by His grace alone. Some days I forget that and think I am the one making it all happen. But He ‘works all things to the good’ everyday, even the bad ones. He is faithful. This is a welcome reminder at the end of a long day. What more could we ask or hope for?
It’s a great verse to share with my children when they have had a troublesome day: a struggle to do school work, a struggle with obedience, a struggle with each other. Before bed we set our minds on the day ahead and focus our thoughts on God and His greatness. We praise Him and say thank you for the hope a new day brings.
Then, I remember to thank God for those days, because they are a reminder to focus on Him and receive the mercy only He can offer.
